I Think this is Nam Dae Mun, but I get them confused. "Dae Mun" means Big Gate. They have a south, west and east one.

Sarah and Meredith, hitting the Palace scene.

All across Korea, In every low-budget hotel, you will find a bottle of Man Touch.

It's called Man Touch. Let me tell you, the stuff works.

The main U.S. military base takes up acres and acres in the heart of Seoul.

A district has grown up around it, called Itaewon. The feeling there is not expatinternational , it's American GI.

However, Some of the bars are pretty cool, and they even have good music.

On any given Saturday, at the main corner in Itaewon, you can often find this crazy bugger, prophesying the end of the world.

His name is David. In his spare time, he teaches English at the school where Sarah and I work (GIFLE).

The statue that resembles a penis is a Korean specialty.

This is Jade Reeves, International Fruit Man. His rapper name is Cuba Furious.

Michelle Ingram, the money honey. I don't know if she has a secret rapper name, or no.

The Classic Bap is a sweet place to hit early in the evening.

It has a big stage for Karaoke, but the owner hates it when you actually use the karaoke machine. he comes down all sleepy-eyed in his pajamas, and demands that you stop singing. Vintage Anjung hotspot.

Sometimes it's just impossible to find a taxi in Anjung.

Jade and Michelle.

This was the night that Sarah, after a few drinks, decided to give them new names -- Gel and Sha-maid.

Yep.

The best place to get Long Island Iced Tea is Masstige.

What does "Masstige"
mean, anyways?

Masstige had a habit of firing all its coolest employees. Here is another one not long for the world of Mass and Prestige.

Dude. This is my sweet ride. It costed me $100 US Dollars.

Just outside Osan Air Force Base is a shop called Mrs. Lee's. They serve truly alarming burgers.

This one includes coleslaw, sausage, ham, and two eggs.

It's hard to eat.

There is a thriving black market connected to Osan Airforce Base. You can even get Coors Light.

In Korea, if you are a couple, you are expected to wear Couple T-Shirts.

Check us out.

Donghae is a valley in the northwest region of S. Korea. They got waterfalls.

Not pictured: literally a thousand or more Koreans in very fashionable hiking wear.

Donghae connects to Narnia.

Donghae Valley.

Donghae Valley.

This is the only fireman motorcycle I have ever come across.

At the lower end of Donghae Valley is a temple.

The temple features a cool stone pagoda.

Couple-T's are cool.

So. In our defense, the car behind us ALSO stopped to get pictures of this cloud.

New years Eve, 2005. We started out in Seoul's only Tibetan restaurant.

Azucena and Dong Hyun.

They are MARRIED now.

Yes, we spent New Years Even in a Karaoke room.

Except... in Korea, you call it Nore-Bang.

Ksan and I are singing.... well, we don't remember.

Jun Hong, as you can see, is the type of person you want around when celebrating the New Year.

Suzy is singing, so it must be a Beatles tune.

Ksan can sing fluently in Korean. Jun Hong has a sweet falsetto.
