Muscat

Muscat is the capital of Oman.  It's a rambling city, with pockets of buildings stuck wherever the mountains allow.

The tourist souk is where we did the vast bulk of our Christmas shopping for 2008.

Apartment buildings from the 1970s.

Fortifications from the 1580s, built by the Portugese.

Muscat offers 3 sizes of boats.

Our last night of camping before we moved into a bungalow at the Omani Dive Center.

This was the campsite where we were marauded by moon donkeys!

Dive equipment.

Coming back from day one of diving, there wasn't much to do but take glamor-shots of Sarah.

Too many shots of Sarah, according to Sarah.

Dolphins!

Coastline near the mouth of the bay where Omani Dive Center sits.

The Omani Dive Center is all one-story buildings.

On the left you can see the sweet open-air beach bar tent.  Muscat's young modern rich hip crowd goes there on the weekend.
